In the most recent crash test, the European New Car Assessment Programme, or Euro NCAP, gave the second-generation Skoda Kodiaq SUV an outstanding 5-star safety rating. Based on the MQB EVO platform, the SUV received the highest ratings in every category, including adult occupant protection (89%), child occupant protection (83%), pedestrian protection (82%) and safety assist features (78%). The all-new Kodiaq, which launched late last year around the world, is expected to arrive in India in mid-2025.

The SUV was crash-tested with the new 2024 Skoda Superb, which also received five stars, however, it was the estate body type that was used. Nonetheless, the rating applies to the Superb sedan as well. Having said that, the vehicle is not to be mistaken with the model now on sale in India, which is a facelifted version of the third-generation Skoda Superb.

Both vehicles were crash tested under Euro NCAP’s higher safety norms, showing Skoda’s preparation and commitment to safety. Adult protection results were exceptionally good during the frontal impact test, with all passengers’ significant body parts effectively protected.

The dummies in the child occupant protection test represented a 6- and 10-year-old child. ISOFIX and i-Size were available for the front passenger seat and the outer seats in the second row. All vital body parts of the two kid dummies were well protected in the frontal offset and side barrier tests.
