Skoda is set to showcase the much-awaited Octavia RS at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show in India, as reported by Autocar India. This marks the first time the new Skoda Octavia RS will be seen in the country, creating a lot of excitement among automobile enthusiasts.

The Skoda Octavia RS, known for its sporty performance and stylish design, will make its India debut in the fourth generation. Previously, Skoda sold limited editions of the Octavia RS 230 and RS 245 as CBUs (Completely Built Units) in India. The new Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 265 horsepower and 370Nm of torque, promising thrilling performance. While the Octavia RS will be displayed to gauge customer response, it is expected to be launched in limited numbers, possibly priced higher due to its CBU status.

The Kodiaq SUV, which has been updated for the global market, will also make its first appearance in India at the show. Skoda’s SUV offering is expected to generate significant interest, particularly among fans of premium SUVs in India.

The standard fourth-generation Octavia, previously assembled in India, was discontinued in 2023 due to the transition to BS6.2 emissions norms. However, it remains on sale in international markets and has recently received a mid-life facelift. Skoda had previously hinted at assembling the facelifted Octavia locally, though it remains uncertain.
