Skoda Auto, the Czech automaker, is making a major push in India, its most significant market outside of Europe. Skoda plans to nearly double its sales volume in the nation by focusing on new models, extending its sales network, and potentially forming partnerships.
As per autocarpro, CEO Klaus Zellmer stated recently that both solo operations and a local partnership are open options. “One option is the standalone option. I also believe in a scenario where we find a partner in India to be more in tune with society and customers. We’re currently discussing with a lot of partners and have to very carefully choose the right one,” he said.
He believes that Skoda’s engineering and a “true partnership” might work well together in the Indian market. He further added, “We believe in skin in the game in terms of engineering competence, sales competence and procurement competence. It has to be on an eye level for both partners.
Finding the right partner might help Skoda Auto introduce high-quality products at reasonable prices, an objective that the firm has failed to accomplish over the previous two decades.
