The Mahindra Scorpio N, which has gained immense popularity among buyers since its launch almost a year ago, has faced prolonged waiting periods due to supply chain challenges. However, Mahindra has been actively addressing these issues and has ramped up production of the Scorpio N, along with other models like the XUV700 and Thar. As a result, there has been a noticeable decline in the waiting periods for the Scorpio N.
Although the waiting period has significantly reduced, it still remains relatively long, extending to over a year depending on the chosen variant. The Scorpio N is available in five trims: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L. In May, the Z4 trim had the longest waiting period, but now it is the Z8 trim that commands the maximum waiting time, stretching up to 13 months. The Z4 trim, with a waiting period of about 12 months, is not far behind the Z8.
Interestingly, the top-spec Z8L trim now has the shortest waiting period. The petrol automatic versions have an estimated waiting period of around three months, while the diesel automatic variants have a waiting period of approximately eight months. The Z8L petrol manual variant has a waiting period of up to eight months, and the diesel manual versions have a waiting period of nearly a year. It is worth noting that just last month, the top-spec trim had a waiting period of up to nine months, indicating a notable improvement.
In November, the waiting period for the Scorpio N stretched to more than two years. Customers interested in purchasing the Z2, Z4, Z6, and Z8 trims had to wait between 22 to 25 months, depending on the variant and location. However, during that time, the Scorpio N Z8L witnessed a significant reduction in waiting period from 17 months to just four months.
The decrease in waiting periods for the Mahindra Scorpio N is a positive development for potential buyers who have eagerly awaited the delivery of their vehicles. With Mahindra’s efforts to boost production and streamline the supply chain, customers can now expect a more reasonable waiting period compared to the previous extended durations.
