Royal Enfield has launched the Scram 440 in India, starting at ₹2.08 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as the successor to the Scram 411, this new model brings a bigger engine, improved performance, advanced features, and new color options.

Upgraded Engine and Performance

The Scram 440 is powered by a 443 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers 25.4 bhp of power and 34 Nm of torque. The engine features a 3 mm larger bore, offering 4.5% more power and 6.5% more torque than its predecessor. Paired with a new 6-speed gearbox, the bike promises smoother rides with reduced vibrations and improved fuel efficiency. Additionally, a new pull-type clutch enhances durability and reduces lever effort by 0.75 kg.

Features and Technology

The Scram 440 comes equipped with modern features such as:

  • Spoked rims or alloy wheels for tubeless tyre options.
  • A new LED headlamp for better illumination.
  • Switchable ABS for added safety.
  • USB charging port for mobile devices.
  • Tripper navigation system and a digital-analogue instrument cluster.

Suspension and Braking

The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front (190 mm travel) and a rear monoshock (180 mm travel). The braking system has been upgraded with a 300 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc. The bike now weighs 187 kg (dry), a marginal 2 kg increase over the Scram 411.
