Renault India has announced the launch of government-approved CNG retrofitment kits for its entire range of vehicles, including the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger. With fuel prices on the rise and increasing demand for eco-friendly alternatives, this move aligns with the growing preference for CNG vehicles in India.

Priced at ₹79,500 for the Triber and Kiger and ₹75,000 for the Kwid, the CNG kits will initially be available in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. These five states represent a significant 65% of the CNG vehicle market in India. Renault plans to expand availability nationwide in the coming months.

The retrofitment process will be carried out by preferred vendors using homologated equipment to ensure safety and performance. Renault India is offering a three-year warranty on the CNG kits, which will be available for all manual variants, excluding automatic and turbo models.

Venkatram M., Managing Director and Country CEO of Renault India, highlighted that the initiative reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. The company has developed a standardized installation process to maintain uniform quality across its dealer network.

The Indian automobile industry is witnessing a surge in demand for CNG-powered vehicles as automakers expand their alternative fuel offerings. The government has been actively promoting CNG as a cleaner fuel option, leading to a rapid increase in CNG stations across the country.
