Ola Electric, India’s leading electric vehicle company, has expanded into the energy sector with the launch of Ola Shakti, the country’s first residential Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This innovative solution is designed to provide modern Indian households, farms, and businesses with portable, on-demand energy, marking a significant shift in how energy is accessed, controlled, and consumed in India.

Built entirely in India, Ola Shakti uses the advanced 4680 Bharat Cell technology developed at the Ola Gigafactory. Its modular design allows easy stacking and scalability, while the compact form factor ensures simple home installation and maintenance. The BESS promises automotive-grade safety, up to 98% efficiency, and zero running or maintenance costs.

Unlike conventional inverters or diesel generators, Ola Shakti provides instant 0 ms changeover, operates across 120V–290V, and is IP67-rated for dust, water, and monsoon conditions. Smart features include real-time battery control, energy optimization, Time of Day (ToD) charge/discharge scheduling, intelligent backup prioritization, remote diagnostics, OTA updates, and online operation mode for continuous energy supply.

Ola Shakti comes in four configurations:

  • 1kW/1.5kWh at ₹29,999

  • 1kW/3kWh at ₹55,999

  • 3kW/5.2kWh at ₹1,19,999

  • 6kW/9.1kWh at ₹1,59,999

The system can power air conditioners, refrigerators, induction cookers, farm pumps, and communication equipment, with fast 2-hour charging and up to 1.5 hours backup on full load.
