This development comes at times when several electric scooters have been reported to catch fire. The Centre has summoned the representative of EV makers & has ordered an investigation. Transport Ministry has handed over the investigation to the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. Till now more than 100s scooters have caught fire.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has always been a visionary & has signalled several times that he plans to make India into an EV hub.
