Nissan has started delivering the X-Trail, its flagship SUV, to customers in India. The model was recently introduced and is being imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), marking it as a high-end product. There is only one fully equipped edition of the X-Trail and it costs Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom).
Nissan X-Trail features
A 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a mild hybrid system running on 12 volts powers the X-Trail. This engine generates 160 bhp and 300 Nm of torque with turbocharging and variable compression technology. The drive is transmitted through a continuously variable gearbox (CVT) to the front wheels.
LED headlights with DRLs, a 360-degree camera, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an automated parking brake with hold function and cruise control are among the features that the Nissan X-Trail will have included.
The SUV has three driving modes—Eco, Standard and Sport—and an automated start/stop system for better fuel economy.
In the Indian market, the Nissan X-Trail’s main rivals are the Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner.
