Ahead of its July 16, 2024, global debut, Audi has released the first official teaser for the new A5. The current A4 is scheduled for discontinuation and the new Audi A5, which will be available in Sportback and Avant body styles, will replace it. The all-electric A6 e-tron will be on sale later this month, according to the German carmaker, while the next-generation Audi Q5 will make its premiere before the end of the year.
The rear profile of the Avant (estate) version of the Audi A5 can be seen in the teaser sketch. This includes the full-width taillights, which most likely use the OLED technology from the brand. The raked rear window and a pronounced spoiler are also visible, giving the model a sportier stance than the existing A4 Avant.
Notably, India is expected to get the Audi A5 Sportback instead of the A4. The A4’s three-box sedan body will be replaced by the A5’s sharper notchback appearance, but expect a bigger car with greater room and creature comforts. Notably, the next-generation A5 will offer more powerful variants such as the S5 Sportback and RS5 Avant.
Depending on the market, the new Audi A5 is anticipated to come with plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid technology.
