Toyota’s next tough SUV, which will be positioned below the Fortuner, is scheduled to enter into serial production by November this year. This new vehicle, expected to be called the FJ Cruiser, will most likely be available in Thailand first.
Autocar India reported that in October 2023 Toyota was working on a rugged SUV that would be based on a modified IMV platform that also supports the Hilux, Fortuner and Innova Crysta.
The brand-new top hat for the Toyota SUV will have heavy wheel arches and boxy stylistic elements. Like the Fortuner and the Innova Crysta, it will have a 2,750mm wheelbase. It will also be around 1,830mm wide and 1,850mm high.
This SUV has numerous powerplant options: The IMV 0 platform can accommodate diesel engines ranging from 2.4 to 2.8 litres, as well as a 2.7-litre petrol engine, which is currently utilized in the Fortuner in India.
