The five-door variant of the new Cooper hatchback has been unveiled by Mini. The five-door hatchback, which had previously been offered in three-door form, has increased interior space while keeping most of the stylistic elements and features of the three-door model. The Mini Cooper five-door is available with two petrol engine options: Cooper C and Cooper S.
New-gen MINI Cooper 5-door features
Aside from its elongated dimensions, the Mini Cooper five-door’s appearance is the same as that of the three-door model. With a length of 4,036 mm, width of 1,744 mm, and height of 1,464 mm, the car is 172 mm longer than the three-door variant. The car is available in four exterior trims: Essential, Classic, Favoured and John Cooper Works. Eleven exterior colours and three roof colour options are offered.
The car’s interior has a configuration similar to that of the Mini three-door, with a round central OLED display powered by Mini Operating System 9. A panel placed beneath the infotainment screen has crucial features including the gear selector, parking brake, experience mode switch, start/stop key and volume control.
A 1.5-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine with 230 Nm of torque and 154 horsepower powers the Mini Cooper C. The Cooper S version of the five-door hatchback is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that generates 300 Nm and 201 bhp. With this engine, the Cooper S can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds and reach up to 242 kmph.
