Mini has unveiled the much-anticipated Cooper S with the John Cooper Works (JCW) pack at the Auto Expo 2025, priced at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the high-performance hatchback have opened, with deliveries set to commence in April. The new model packs a more powerful engine and sporty design upgrades, setting it apart from the standard Cooper S.

Engine

The Mini JCW retains the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the regular Cooper S, but with an enhanced output of 231hp and 380Nm of peak torque—an increase of 27hp and 80Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox, offering quick shifts with paddle shifters, which the standard Cooper S lacks. With a 0-100kph time of just 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 250kph, the JCW model is designed for performance enthusiasts.

Exterior Design

Visually, the JCW version stands out with a blacked-out front grille featuring a three-colour JCW logo, wider air vents, and distinctive LED DRLs. At the rear, the hatch features a new spoiler, black diffuser, and a centrally positioned tailpipe, alongside red accent details for a more aggressive look.

Sporty Interior

Inside, the Mini JCW gets a bold red and black theme, including JCW sports seats with black synthetic leather and multi-coloured fabric, along with red stitching. A special JCW sports steering wheel completes the cabin’s sporty ambiance, while the circular infotainment screen and overall layout remain consistent with the standard Cooper S.
