Mercedes-Benz has taken the automotive world by storm with the reveal of its latest concept car, the Vision One-Eleven. This visionary hypercar pays homage to the iconic C111 prototype from the 1970s, offering a progressive interpretation of a beloved brand icon. Boasting a striking design, advanced electric drivetrain technology, and a range of limited-edition accessories, the Vision One-Eleven captivates enthusiasts and provides a glimpse into Mercedes’ future of electric mobility.

Underneath the monolithic exterior of the Vision One-Eleven lies an innovative electric drivetrain. Developed in collaboration with British firm Yasa, the hypercar features two rear-mounted axial-flux electric motors. These motors, which are now a part of Mercedes’ wholly-owned subsidiary since 2021, deliver exceptional performance and efficiency. Furthermore, the battery powering the Vision One-Eleven benefits from the expertise of Mercedes-AMG’s Formula 1 division, featuring liquid-cooled cylindrical cells and novel cell chemistry. This collaboration hints at the future of electric sports cars from Mercedes.

The Vision One-Eleven’s design seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with the spirit of the original C111 series. With clean surfaces and a flush-fitting glass canopy, the hypercar exudes elegance and aerodynamic prowess. Paying tribute to its predecessor, the low-set front end echoes the distinctive look of the C111 prototypes. The pixelated grille, round headlamps, and a carbon-fiber splitter create a bold visual statement. Notably, aerodynamic efficiency takes center stage, with strategically placed air intakes, twin air vents, and a steeply raked windshield that seamlessly integrates into the roof.

Emphasizing its commitment to aerodynamic excellence, the Vision One-Eleven incorporates numerous elements inspired by the C111 series. The car’s body features smooth surfacing and rounded forms, with swollen wheel arches housing sizable wheels. Carbon-fiber sills, wind-cheating “blade” elements, and rear vents work together to optimize airflow and cool the rear-mounted motors. The rear of the hypercar is dominated by a large spoiler for increased downforce, while a pixelated section mirrors the front design. An extravagant diffuser completes the rear aesthetic.

Inside the Vision One-Eleven, the focus remains on driver engagement and comfort. The two-seat configuration integrates the squabs into the floor, allowing the pedals, F1-style steering wheel, and seatbacks to adjust for a personalized driving position. The interior design takes cues from Formula 1, creating an immersive and dynamic atmosphere. The dashboard features brushed aluminum surrounds, while a central touchscreen display equipped with the latest MBUX software provides essential driver information and can be enhanced with augmented-reality functions.

To celebrate the introduction of the Vision One-Eleven, Mercedes has unveiled a series of exclusive accessories. These accessories, including a weekend bag, sunglasses, a hoodie, a cap, and a smartphone case, bear the “Limited Edition 1 of 111” lettering. The accessories perfectly complement the hypercar, allowing enthusiasts to embrace the Vision One-Eleven experience beyond the confines of the car itself.
