Mercedes has launched the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, a more premium version of the standard SL Roadster. Mercedes claims that the SL Monogram Series is the most sporty car in Maybach’s history.
Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Features
The SL 680 is equipped with an illuminated Maybach grille with thin vertical slats. Over the SL Roadster, the front bumper has been modified and heavily chromed. The Maybach SL 680 will be available in Garnet Red Metallic and Opalite White Magno at launch, with a two-tone finish and Obsidian Black hood.
The car has a unique Maybach logo design on the soft roof and hood. Mercedes states that some of the hood’s logos are handmade. The bonnet also has an upright Mercedes star and a chromed fin running front to back through the centre.
The Maybach SL 680 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 585hp and 800Nm of torque, with no hybrid assistance whatsoever. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which delivers power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. The Maybach SL 680 takes just 4.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
