The pricing of the top-of-the E 450 4Matic and the E 220d diesel are Rs 92.5 lakh and Rs 81.5 lakh, respectively. Mercedes E-Class LWB features
Under the hood, the major news is that Mercedes equips the top-of-the-line E 450 with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 381 horsepower and 500 Nm. Mercedes claims that the E 450 can reach 100 kilometres per hour in 4.5 seconds. The new E-Class is also available with two 2.0-litre four-cylinder engines: an E 200 turbo-petrol with 204 horsepower and an E 220d diesel with 197 horsepower. The 48V mild hybrid system, which adds 23 horsepower and 205 Nm, is coupled to an automated torque converter transmission and powers all three engines. But only the E 450 is equipped with Mercedes’ 4Matic AWD system.
The front-end style of the latest E-Class, which takes inspiration from Mercedes’ EQ vehicles, helps set it apart from the previous generation in terms of appearance. It has a huge chrome grille with a large 3D logo surrounded by multiple smaller three-pointed stars.
Apart from standard features like Level 2 ADAS, the new E-Class LWB is the first and only made-in-India Mercedes-Benz to include a front center airbag; the sedan has eight airbags in total. Additionally, according to the firm, the Active Brake Assist system is now standard and can be adjusted to maintain the customer’s preference instead of returning to the default mode on every start.
