The EQG promises to stand out with distinctive features, including the iconic matte blue paint teased by the company. Design updates from its ICE counterpart include a blanked-out grille, glossy black accents, and an optional tailgate-mounted box replacing the spare wheel—a convenient storage for the EV charger.
The EQG’s standout feature is the ‘tank turn,’ enabling a full 360-degree rotation on the spot, redefining maneuverability for SUVs.
Under the hood, the G 580 EQ Technology boasts a 116kWh battery pack powering four electric motors—one on each wheel—delivering a combined 579bhp and a staggering 1,164Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz claims an impressive range of 479km on a single charge, ensuring the EQG is ready for long journeys as well as off-road adventures. Pre-bookings for the electric G-Class commenced in July last year, and deliveries are expected to begin soon.
