Following the Fronx’s 2023 launch, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has seen a steady increase in the SUV’s popularity in the country. The carmaker now aims to increase its market share in Japan as well. According to the most recent reports, MSIL has started exporting the SUV Fronx, which is made in India, to Japan. As a result, this model is now the first Maruti Suzuki SUV to be introduced in Japan.

Supporting the Made In India campaign, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is a model that is exclusively manufactured in the Gujarat facility. The company announced that the first shipment of over 1600 units left Pipavav port in Gujarat for Japan.

As a result, Fronx is now the brand’s second model to be sent from India to Japan. Baleno was the first model to be shipped in 2016. This significant development comes before Maruti Suzuki’s parent firm, Suzuki Motor Corporation, plans to debut the Fronx in Japan in the fall of 2024.

Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, commented on the accomplishment, saying,  “I am proud to share that our ‘Made-in-India’ Fronx will soon be seen on the roads in Japan. Japan is one of the most quality conscious and advanced automobile markets in the world. Our export to Japan is a testament of Maruti Suzuki’s capability to manufacture world-class vehicles that exemplify cutting-edge technology, exceptional performance, internationally recognized safety, and quality standards.”
