Maruti Suzuki India is aiming to make its vehicles safer. To do this, the firm has made its standard cars Alto K10 and S-Presso safer by introducing the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as a new feature.
The objective of the feature is to improve the hatchback’s stability at high speeds, particularly while using emergency brakes. Without affecting the cost, the feature will be available in the select variants of car models.
There are several safety features already present in the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Alto K10. Dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a collapsible steering column and an engine immobilizer are among the features on the list. In addition, the models with AMT technology will include Hill Hold Assist.
The car’s Electronic Stability Program technology maintains control under heavy braking by reducing sliding and keeping the car on its intended route. The ESP unit combines ABS, stability control and traction control, using a variety of sensors to monitor the vehicle’s motion. The data is then analyzed by the ECU to determine and change the vehicle’s trajectory, resulting in better stability.
The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, which starts at Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom), is one of the most reasonably priced cars available in the Indian market. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, on the other hand, has an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 4.26 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.11 lakh.
