Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, is gearing up for a significant update to its popular SUV, the Grand Vitara. Launched in September 2022, the Grand Vitara has been well-received in the Indian market for its stylish design and feature-packed offerings. However, as we approach the end of 2024, Maruti Suzuki has been spotted testing a new SUV prototype, hinting at a mid-life update or a facelift for the Grand Vitara. The test mule’s size and proportions strongly suggest that this is an updated version of the Grand Vitara, making it an exciting prospect for potential buyers.
Here’s what to expect in Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara facelift
The spy shots reveal some important design cues. The front fascia of the updated Grand Vitara appears to have received subtle revisions. The iconic split-LED headlight setup remains intact, but with slight tweaks. The Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) continue to be positioned on top, while the main headlights are placed lower in the bumper, giving it a more aggressive and modern look.
Interestingly, the updated Grand Vitara seems to borrow some styling inspiration from Suzuki’s electric derivative, the Suzuki E-Vitara, unveiled in November 2024. The alloy wheels on the test mule sport a new design, and the rear may feature connected taillamps, adding a more dynamic and contemporary touch. Additionally, the brake lights are positioned at the far ends, mirroring the outgoing model’s layout but with enhancements for a more futuristic appearance.
Inside, the cabin of the updated Grand Vitara appears to feature some significant updates. The dashboard now houses a larger, free-standing infotainment screen, offering better usability and connectivity. Below the screen, the AC vents have been redesigned, and there are new manual controls for various functions, enhancing the overall interior appeal.
