Mahindra has been designing the five-door Thar for a while now. On Indian roads, the SUV test mule has been spotted several times. After testing in many climates and terrains, the Indian carmaker plans to introduce the SUV. Nevertheless, pictures of the much-awaited SUV were leaked online before its launch.
The most recent pictures suggest that the Mahindra Thar 5-door would be named Armada. It gets a slightly different front fascia along with the new name. The changes are evident in a new grille that has double double-stacked vertical slats on each slat. The SUV retains its heritage with a circular headlamp cluster that includes C-shaped DRLs and LED projector lights.
The SUV’s silhouette is identical to that of the three-door model, but it has been scaled up to include two more doors. Furthermore, cameras have been added to the side mirrors. This suggests that a 360-degree camera will be installed in the SUV. The Indian carmaker placed the door handle on the top end of the rear door.
The Mahindra Thar 5-door will be equipped with a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment cluster. The SUV also receives a panoramic sunroof in higher variants. The SUV will likely have ADAS technology. Currently, the technology is available on vehicles such as the XUV 3XO and XUV700.
