Mahindra and Mahindra have disclosed that the 5-door Thar would be known as the Thar Roxx. The new SUV has been revealed in a new teaser released by the homegrown manufacturer. The new vehicle is set to be launched on August 15.
The teaser shows a modified bumper design that no longer comes in black. There is a new pair of LED headlights at the front, which should improve nighttime visibility. The grille has also been changed.
On the sides, there is a new set of alloy wheels that are cleverly designed and are expected to measure 18 inches in size. They are diamond-cut. One of the most noticeable modifications is the extra length, which is caused by the longer wheelbase. This has been done to make room for the back doors, which make for easier entry and exit. More room would also be available for the passengers in the back.
The vehicle will also include an automated temperature control system, a sunroof and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. Rear AC vents and an updated instrument cluster are expected to be available as well.
According to Veejay Nakra, President of M&M Ltd.’s Automotive Sector, “The ‘Thar ROXX’ with its distinctive design, premium quotient, advanced technology, enhanced performance, sophistication, and safety is ‘THE’ SUV. While retaining the core attributes of the iconic Thar the ‘Thar ROXX’ represents the larger-than-life personality of a rockstar and will disrupt the SUV category.”
