Lotus recently launched Theory 1, a new electric supercar concept that highlights the company’s future products. The Lotus Theory 1 is essentially a 1,000-hp, three-seater electric supercar that might enter into production in the future.

Lotus Theory 1 features

Lotus Theory is 4,490mm long, 2,000mm wide, stands 1,140mm tall and comes with a 2,650mm wheelbase.

The Theory 1 has a three-seater configuration similar to the McLaren F1, with the driver’s seat in the centre and the two passenger seats behind it on each side. While the pedals and steering wheel are adjustable, the driver’s seat is fixed. There isn’t an infotainment screen on the Theory 1. Instead, a speedometer is positioned closer to the windscreen and a tiny screen on the steering wheel is installed.

The Theory 1 has a twin-motor all-wheel-drive electric engine that draws power from a 70kWh battery set next to the rear motor. The two motors combine to create 1,000 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in less than 2.5 seconds. The EV features all-wheel drive and has a max speed of 320kph. The 70kWh battery provides a WLTP-certified range of 402 kilometers on a single charge.
