Lexus is set to unveil the LF-ZC concept at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, showcasing its vision for the future of electric mobility. First introduced at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, the LF-ZC, which stands for Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst, previews an electric vehicle (EV) slated for production in 2026. Promising double the range of Lexus’ current EVs, the LF-ZC marks a significant leap in the brand’s EV journey.
The LF-ZC boasts a striking design with sharp cuts and creases, a fully enclosed grille, and edgy headlamp clusters. Side air vents enhance its aerodynamics, while its coupe-like roofline flows seamlessly into a raked C-pillar, contributing to a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.2. Advanced technologies like Steer-By-Wire and Direct4 All-Wheel Drive, seen in models like the Lexus RZ, also feature in the concept.
Inside, the LF-ZC offers a futuristic cabin with multiple displays. Two screens flanking the steering wheel manage essential functions like gear selection, ADAS, climate control, and infotainment. A large central console enhances usability, while a dedicated screen for the co-driver ensures a seamless experience.
Innovative features include an AI-enabled voice assistant called Butler. With self-learning capabilities, it optimizes vehicle settings based on user preferences and driving data.
Lexus aims to achieve superior range with next-gen prismatic high-performance batteries. These lightweight, low-profile battery packs improve energy density, aerodynamics, and efficiency.
