Images of the Lamborghini Temerario, the much-awaited successor to the Huracan, have leaked online ahead of its official launch tonight, August 16, at Monterey Car Week. The leaked photographs provide a glimpse at the supercar’s front end, displaying a dramatic design that differs significantly from its V12-powered predecessor.

The Temerario will have a hybrid powertrain, that consists of a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine coupled with three electric motors, instead of the Huracan’s naturally aspirated V10. This setup is a component of Lamborghini’s electrification strategy, which aims to make every vehicle in the lineup electric or hybrid.

Compared to its larger sibling, the Revuelto, which has more complex lines, the Temerario has a sleek, angular design. The Temerario is different from the Ypsilon’s style, with a unique hexagonal motif throughout. Its low-slung front end has stylish, twin-barrel projector headlights included in the bonnet.

The main features are likely to include an 8.4-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9.1-inch passenger display. There will probably be four control knobs on the steering wheel, giving drivers a choice of 13 different driving modes.

The Temerario is an important upgrade from the Huracan, with Lamborghini confirming a shift from naturally aspirated V10 power to a hybrid twin-turbo V8 system. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine at the core of this new powertrain can generate 780 horsepower and 730 Nm of torque while reaching an incredible 10,000 rpm.
