KTM has unveiled the highly anticipated 990 Duke R, marking 30 years of the iconic Duke lineup. Building on the foundation of the 990 Duke, this latest model features significant upgrades that elevate its performance and riding experience. Set to debut at EICMA this year, the 990 Duke R is expected to hit authorized dealerships in early 2025. However, it remains uncertain whether it will be available in the Indian market.

Key Features of the KTM 990 Duke R

The 990 Duke R is powered by a robust 947 cc engine, which now delivers an impressive 128 PS, an increase of 7 bhp from its predecessor. The torque remains at 103 Nm, with the engine revving up to 10,500 RPM due to an optimized remapping process.

KTM has also enhanced the ergonomics of the 990 Duke R, though the overall weight remains unchanged at 190 kg. The seat height and ground clearance have been increased by 15 mm, facilitated by longer suspension travel and a steeper swingarm angle, providing an additional 3 degrees of lean angle when on the attack.

Both the front and rear suspension components are taken from WP Apex. However, these are now new Open Cartridge forks with a travel of 143 mm. The diameter has increased to 48 mm, up from 43 mm on the KTM 990 Duke.
