KTM India has introduced the highly anticipated 890 Adventure R in the country, elevating the middleweight adventure motorcycle segment with its robust off-road and touring capabilities. Priced at ₹15.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the KTM 890 Adventure R is designed to conquer a variety of terrains, making it an ideal companion for adventure enthusiasts.

KTM 890 Adventure R features

The 890 Adventure R borrows its rugged look from the Dakar-winning KTM 450 Rally. It features a beefy, purposeful design similar to the 390 Adventure but on a larger scale, built on a chromoly steel frame that uses the engine as a stress member.

Powering the 890 Adventure R is an 889 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 103 bhp and 100 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch for smooth shifting. Suspension duties are handled by WP-sourced 48 mm USD forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear, both offering 240 mm of travel, making it highly capable on rugged terrains.

With a tall seat height of 880 mm and a solid 263 mm of ground clearance, the KTM 890 Adventure R should be able to handle most off-road situations. The bike has wire-spoke wheels with aluminum rims and dual-purpose tyres on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels.

A 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation, numerous riding modes, switchable ABS with an off-road mode, traction control, a quickshifter and cruise control are some of the other features of the new KTM 890 Adventure R.
