Kia Syros, the much-awaited compact SUV from the Korean automaker, is gearing up for its India launch and has already been spotted multiple times on Indian roads during its testing phase. Recently, a camouflaged version of the SUV was seen in Andhra Pradesh, close to Kia’s manufacturing facility, sparking further excitement ahead of its official debut.
In terms of design, the Kia Syros features a boxy, rugged silhouette, reminiscent of modern SUVs, with some distinctive design elements starting to emerge from the latest spy shots. The vehicle’s wheels are expected to sport a unique four-spoke alloy design, measuring at least 15 inches in diameter. A functional roof rail adds to the SUV’s versatility, while the large, uniquely rounded windows enhance the exterior’s aesthetic appeal.
Inside, Kia is expected to offer a tech-laden cabin, with a dual-screen setup on the dashboard. This setup will include a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display, both of which have been seen in other models from the brand. The Syros will likely feature a two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel, adding a sporty feel to the cabin. Comfort and convenience will be key focuses, with an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and a wireless charger among the expected features.
It is expected that Kia would have two engine options for the Syros. It could have a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a peak torque of 172 Nm and 118 horsepower. The engine could be paired to a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic in addition to a manual gearbox. A 1.5-liter diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox unit may also be available from Kia.
