Jeep’s huge all-electric SUV, the Wagoneer S, is set to get a tougher Trailhawk variant in international markets. The Wagoneer S Trailhawk, shown as a near-production concept, has a variety of upgrades to improve its off-road capability over the standard EV.
Naturally, the Trailhawk version shares its STLA big foundations with the standard Wagoneer S and while Jeep has not officially shared the battery numbers or other technical specs, the company claims that this SUV has “all the capability of the new production vehicle.”
In addition to tow hooks being added to the bumpers, the grille has been updated, and anti-scratch cladding has been added to the lower exposed parts to prevent damage from occurring when off-roading.
Jeep has also raised the suspension by 2 inches, fitted the SUV with big 31.5-inch all-terrain tyres and installed functioning air vents to reduce high-pressure zones in the wheel wells at high speeds.
The Wagoneer S Trailhawk, like previous Trailhawk versions, includes a Rock drive mode in addition to the Auto, Sand, Snow, Eco and Sport modes found on the basic EV. Jeep has also included a driver-selectable electronic locking rear axle. All of the adjustments, particularly those impacting weight, will limit the Trailhawk’s range when compared to the Wagoneer’s claimed number of over 480km.
