The Jaguar I-Pace, one of the first high-end electric vehicles to be sold in India, has been delisted from the company’s Indian website. Jaguar India’s last vehicles on sale were the I-Pace and F-Pace and the former’s discontinuation leaves the British automaker with only one model in its lineup. The move was expected, as Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) enters a new age of mobility with all-electric vehicles.
The brand’s first all-electric vehicle, the Jaguar I-Pace, made its debut in India in 2021. The SUV with a coupe-style cost more than ₹1 crore (ex-showroom) and was a competitor to the Audi e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQC models. While the EQC has been discontinued, the upgraded e-Tron, known as the Q8 e-tron, was introduced in the nation late last year.
Unlike its competitors, the Jaguar I-Pace received no regular modifications, making it less relevant in the face of newer electric alternatives like as the BMW iX. Furthermore, the electric luxury SUV got caught up in the British brand’s change plan as sales of the Jaguar line fell globally. The Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) brand has been separated into four sub-brands: Jaguar, Discovery, Defender and Range Rover, with Jaguar turning all-electric beginning in 2025.
It was obvious that the Jaguar I-Pace would eventually be discounted and India was among the first countries to drop the model.
