Hyundai has introduced its latest all-electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, during an exclusive event at Los Angeles’ iconic Goldstein House on November 21, 2024. The Ioniq 9 is the largest model in Hyundai’s electric lineup, built on the advanced E-GMP platform that also powers the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. Set to launch in South Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025, it remains to be seen if it will make its way to India, especially after the launch of its sibling, the Kia EV9.

With a focus on luxury and performance, the Ioniq 9 features a generous 3,130 mm wheelbase, offering ample space for up to seven passengers across three rows. The flexible seating options include the ability to fully recline the first and second rows, while swivel seats in the second row allow passengers to face each other when parked.

The Ioniq 9 is equipped with a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch digital driver display, and a BOSE premium sound system with 14 speakers. A unique e-Active Sound Design enhances the driving experience by creating virtual EV sounds.

Under the hood, the Ioniq 9 offers three variants, including Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Performance All-Wheel Drive (AWD) options, with power outputs ranging from 215 bhp to 492 bhp. The Performance AWD variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. Its 110.3 kWh battery provides an impressive range of nearly 620 km on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging (10% to 80% in just 24 minutes) via a 350 kW charger.
