Hyundai Motor India has officially teased the much-anticipated Hyundai Creta EV, set to debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. Positioned to compete directly with the likes of MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV 400, Tata Curvv EV, and the newly launched Mahindra Be6e, the Creta EV will also face competition from upcoming models such as the Harrier EV and Honda Elevate EV. The Creta will now offer a comprehensive lineup of engine options, including all-electric, turbo petrol, NA petrol, and turbo diesel variants.

First Look at the Creta EV

The teaser images highlight a wall-mounted electric car charger and provide glimpses of the SUV’s design. Recognizable features include:

  • Twin LED DRLs and an LED light bar on the front fascia.
  • Integrated charging port, redesigned dual-tone alloy wheels, and roof rails.
  • Contrasting ORVMs and vertically stacked headlights.
  • Expected updates such as a closed-off grille, EV-specific badges, and unique color accents.

Spy shots from Chennai suggest that while the overall silhouette of the Creta EV remains similar to the internal combustion engine (ICE) model, subtle aerodynamic tweaks and EV-specific styling elements will differentiate it. Changes may include a blanked-off grille, redesigned bumpers, a repositioned Hyundai logo, and 17-inch aerodynamically designed alloy wheels.

Interior and Features

The Creta EV’s interior is expected to mirror the ICE variant’s dashboard layout, with unique touches for the EV model:

  • Twin screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster.
  • EV-specific UI for infotainment and digital displays.
  • Features such as dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an air purifier, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS capabilities.

Other highlights include a redesigned steering wheel, a column-mounted drive mode selector, and connected car technology.

Battery and Performance

While official details of the electric motor remain under wraps, the Creta EV is likely to be powered by a 45-50 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of up to 450 km on a full charge. Charging options are expected to include:

  • Regular home charging: 6-8 hours for a full charge.
  • Fast charging: Under an hour for significant charging.

This blend of practicality, advanced features, and competitive performance positions the Hyundai Creta EV as a strong contender in the burgeoning electric SUV market.
