Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), one of the country’s leading automobile manufacturers, has signed a landmark long-term wage settlement agreement with the United Union of Hyundai Employees (UUHE). The agreement, effective from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027, sets a new benchmark in the Indian automotive industry by offering one of the most competitive salary packages.

As part of the settlement, Hyundai employees will receive an industry-best salary hike of ₹31,000 per month, structured over three years in the ratio of 55%, 25%, and 20%. Alongside the wage increase, HMIL will continue to provide employees with best-in-class health coverage and advanced wellness programs, further strengthening its reputation as an employee-first organization.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Youngmyung Park, Function Head – People Strategy, HMIL, said:
“At Hyundai, our people are the cornerstone of our success. This agreement, built on mutual trust, respect, and constructive dialogue, reflects our shared commitment to fostering a progressive workplace culture that prioritizes employee welfare and supports long-term organizational growth.”

Founded in 2011, UUHE is the officially recognized union representing Hyundai’s workforce. As of August 31, 2025, the union represents 1,981 employees, which accounts for nearly 90% of the technician and workmen cadre. The union has consistently played a pivotal role in advocating for employee rights, welfare, and constructive engagement with HMIL management.
