Hyundai is gearing up to introduce the third-generation Creta in India by 2027, as reported by Autocar India. Following the successful facelift of the second-gen model in January last year, the upcoming midsize SUV, codenamed SX3, will be manufactured at Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu plant.

Expected Powertrain Options

The new Creta is likely to retain the current powertrain lineup, including:

  • 1.5-litre petrol engine (115hp)
  • 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine (160hp)
  • 1.5-litre diesel engine (116hp)
  • Manual and automatic transmission options

However, Hyundai is reportedly considering a strong hybrid powertrain, which could make the Creta the brand’s first hybrid SUV in India. The hybrid setup will likely include a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with an electric motor, similar to the upcoming Hyundai Ni1i SUV, which is positioned between the Alcazar and Tucson.

Design & Feature Upgrades

The third-gen Creta is expected to receive major design updates, aligning with Hyundai’s latest global SUV styling trends. Inside the cabin, buyers can expect a longer list of features, improved infotainment, and enhanced safety technology.

Enhanced Safety & Technology

With growing competition in the midsize SUV segment, Hyundai is likely to equip the next-gen Creta with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a larger touchscreen, premium materials, and improved connectivity features to match segment leaders.
