Honda Cars India has announced a significant recall affecting 92,672 units of several popular models, including the Amaze, Brio, BR-V, City, Jazz, and WR-V. The recall is a proactive measure to address concerns over faulty fuel pumps that could lead to engine failures. This comes in the wake of a similar recall in 2021, which involved nearly 78,000 vehicles due to the same issue.
Affected Models
- Amaze: 18,851 units
- Brio: 3,317 units
- BR-V: 4,386 units
- City: 32,872 units
- Jazz: 16,744 units
- WR-V: 14,298 units
Additionally, 2,204 units that had their fuel pumps replaced as spare parts are also included in the recall.
According to Honda, the impacted cars may have a fuel pump with a faulty impeller, which might cause the engine to stop or refuse to start. According to the company, the recall will start gradually on November 5 and the part replacement will be provided at no cost. The company will make direct contact with the owners of the affected vehicles.
Customers can visit the Product Update/Recall page through the Service tab on the Honda Cars India website and enter their vehicle’s VIN to see if their vehicle is impacted by the recall, the company said. The firm has also requested that Honda owners who purchased fuel pumps as spare parts from its authorized dealers between June 2017 and October 2023 have their cars inspected.
