Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has expanded its recall campaign to proactively address issues related to fuel pumps with defective impellers. This latest recall impacts 90,468 units across popular models, including the Honda Amaze, Brio, BR-V, City, Jazz and WR-V, manufactured between September 2017 and June 2018. In addition, 2,204 other units, including models where fuel pumps were replaced with potentially defective spare parts, are included in this recall.

Honda stated that the replacement procedure will be carried out in phases and start at approved dealerships on November 5, 2024. Individual vehicle owners are being informed and all repairs are being made at no cost.

Customers may check if their cars are included in the recall by entering their 17-character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on a dedicated microsite that Honda has set up on its official website. Additionally, it is recommended that owners who purchased fuel pump assemblies through over-the-counter sales from authorized Honda dealerships between June 2017 and October 2023 visit the stores for inspection and confirmation.
