A spy video from the Himalayas confirms that Hero MotoCorp is currently working on and testing the Xpulse 400. The motorbike was originally scheduled to arrive by mid-2020, however, it was postponed after it was widely rumoured to have been shelved by Hero. The Hero Xpulse 400 will be built on an entirely novel frame and will be very feature-rich.

According to the video, the Xpulse 400 will differ significantly in appearance from its 200 cc model. The most visible modification is the bigger fuel tank and tail lights, which look to be upgraded versions of the 200 cc model. The motorbike is also likely to keep a few stylistic elements, such as the round front LED headlight.

The test mule’s bike parts included a telescopic front fork and a monoshock rear. Disc brakes will be used at both ends to provide braking. The motorbike will have a 21-inch front wheel. On the engine front, the liquid-cooled 421 cc engine is expected to produce roughly 40 horsepower and 35 Nm of peak torque.

When compared to models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure, the Hero Xpulse 400 is anticipated to be more affordable, possibly around Rs 2.60 lakh.
