Force Motors is preparing to release a rear-wheel drive version of the recently released 2024 Gurkha lifestyle SUV. For the time being, the Gurkha 4×2 will only be available in the 3-door body type, while the bigger 5-door vehicle stays a 4×4.
According to Carandbike, a type approval document surfaced online that reveals that the Gurkha 4×2 will use the same engine as the 4×4 model: a 2.6-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 138 bhp and 320 Nm of maximum torque. A 5-speed manual transmission will provide power to the rear wheels.
According to the document, Force Motors is not expected to modify the 4×2 model’s design, and it will continue to have the present 4×4 model’s 4-seat interior setup. In terms of design, don’t anticipate any major changes to the exterior, with Force Motors most likely making small adjustments like removing the 4x4x4 badging and offering different wheels.
Expect the Gurkha 4×2 to be significantly less expensive than the Gurkha 3-door 4×4 due to the removal of the 4×4 parts. Ex-showroom, the Gurkha 3-door 4×4 costs Rs 16.75 lakh.
