Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL), one of India’s leading engineering companies in the agricultural and construction equipment sector, has introduced its latest BS V-compliant construction equipment line-up at Excon 2025. The showcase marks an important step in the company’s strategy to deliver application-specific, high-performance machines designed to lower ownership costs and meet the rapidly evolving needs of India’s expanding infrastructure market.

The refreshed equipment range highlights EKL’s commitment to innovation, reliability and productivity across diverse project environments, including urban development, industrial logistics and large-scale mining. Along with commercial launches, the company also presented several concept and prototype-stage machines, underscoring its focus on future-ready engineering.

Among the key highlights was the commercial introduction of the Kubota U22-6 Mini Excavator in the earthmoving category. This 2.2-ton machine fills a critical niche between EKL’s existing 1.7-ton and 3-ton models, offering precise digging capability, a zero-tail swing design, enhanced hydraulic performance and essential ROPS/FOPS safety features. Its advanced digital interface and smooth operator controls make it particularly effective for confined spaces such as urban sites, basement projects and other areas where manoeuvrability is a priority.

Escorts Kubota also showcased the Hydra 15 Mining, a prototype variant engineered for tough mining and quarrying environments. The model is equipped with strengthened safety mechanisms like a lift-jack guard and reinforced bumper, while an air-conditioned cabin ensures operator comfort during extended working hours. Built for high-impact conditions and predictable maintenance cycles, the Hydra 15 Mining aims to provide miners with dependable performance in extreme terrain.

Another prototype, the BLX75K Backhoe Loader, made its appearance at Excon as a next-generation model designed to serve wider regional markets. Powered by a 74.3 hp Kubota CEV-V engine, it delivers improved fuel efficiency, multiple operating modes and easier service access. The BLX75K reflects the deeper integration of Japanese engineering excellence across Escorts Kubota’s construction equipment portfolio, strengthening its next-gen backhoe lineup.

Leading the concept showcases was the Hydra 72, a future-oriented pick-and-carry crane developed for higher-height lifting. Its extended 72-foot boom represents a step forward from the earlier 65-foot class, addressing the growing demand for elevated material handling across infrastructure and industrial sectors. The crane features a rope-compensated boom design, a heavy-duty hydraulic winch, integrated safety technologies such as outriggers and brake systems, and an upgraded axle-and-transmission setup tailored for continuous, demanding operations. Improved luffing performance and a redesigned ergonomic cabin enhance both safety and operator efficiency.

Alongside these introductions, Escorts Kubota also displayed its wider BS V-compliant portfolio, including the recently launched mass-market BLX 75 backhoe loader and new Kubota-engine variants, emphasising its readiness for the updated emission norms and future industry requirements.
