Escorts Kubota Limited’s Agri Machinery Business Division reported a slight decline in tractor sales in April 2025. The company sold a total of 8,729 tractors, compared to 8,839 tractors sold in April 2024, reflecting a 1.2% decrease in sales.

Domestic Tractor Sales Performance

Domestic sales in April 2025 stood at 8,148 tractors, showing a decrease of 4.1% compared to 8,492 tractors sold in April 2024. The decline in domestic sales can be attributed to the preponement of the festive season to March 2025, which had a direct impact on April’s sales figures.

Export Tractor Sales Growth

On a positive note, Escorts Kubota’s export tractor sales saw substantial growth. In April 2025, export sales increased by 67.4%, with the company selling 581 tractors, up from 347 units in the same month of the previous year. This increase in export sales is a noteworthy achievement, signaling positive demand from international markets.

Construction Equipment Division: Machine Sales Performance

In the Construction Equipment (CE) Business Division, Escorts Kubota sold 400 machines in April 2025, compared to 465 machines in April 2024, marking a decline of 14.0%.

The CE industry continues to face challenges, primarily driven by increased costs associated with changes in emission norms. These regulatory changes have led to escalated costs for both manufacturers and customers, which has had a dampening effect on retail demand. However, Escorts Kubota remains hopeful for the second half of the fiscal year. The company expects a recovery in demand as the government continues to prioritize infrastructure development across various sectors. Additionally, with prices stabilizing post-liquidation of old emission inventories, there is anticipation of an uptick in sales momentum moving forward.
