VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), an unlisted subsidiary of Eicher Motors Limited, reported its sales performance for April 2025, showing a consistent upward trajectory across several product segments. For the month, total sales including electric vehicles reached 6,846 units, compared to 5,377 units in April 2024, reflecting a growth of 27.3 percent year-on-year.

The Eicher Trucks and Buses division reported sales of 6,717 units in April 2025, a 27.8 percent increase from 5,254 units in the same period last year.
Domestic Market Overview
In the domestic market, sales reached 6,257 units in April 2025, rising from 4,898 units in April 2024, showing a 27.7 percent increase. The small commercial vehicle (SCV) and light and medium-duty (LMD) truck segment under 18.5 tonnes recorded sales of 2,750 units, growing 21.5 percent year-on-year. The heavy-duty (HD) truck segment (18.5 tonnes and above) saw a modest increase of 4.4 percent, with 1,319 units sold.
The bus segment showed higher growth. LMD bus sales rose to 2,025 units in April 2025 from 1,253 units a year earlier, marking a 61.6 percent increase. HD bus sales stood at 163 units, compared to 118 units last April, reflecting a 38.1 percent rise.
Export Market Performance
VECV’s total exports in April 2025 were 460 units, a 29.2 percent increase compared to 356 units in April 2024. LMD truck exports more than doubled with 298 units sold, while HD truck exports increased to 38 units from 25 units a year ago. Bus exports declined to 124 units from 194 units, registering a 36.1 percent drop.
Volvo Trucks and Buses
Sales for Volvo Trucks and Buses, part of the VECV group, reached 129 units in April 2025, slightly up from 123 units in April 2024, indicating a 4.9 percent year-on-year increase.
