Ducati India has announced the upcoming debut of the Hypermotard 698 Mono by teasing it on social media. The Hypermotard 698 Mono is the company’s first single-cylinder bike in decades, and it is set to be released in India in two variants: Standard and RVE.

The Hypermotard 698 Mono’s 659cc liquid-cooled Superquadro Mono engine is its standout feature. The big single produces 63Nm at 8,000 rpm and 77.5 bhp at 9,750 rpm. It is now the world’s most powerful single-cylinder engine. The optional Termignoni race exhaust increases power and torque, bringing those numbers up to 84.5hp and 67Nm, respectively.

It includes a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch, and while the RVE comes standard with a quickshifter, the base model may be upgraded to include one by paying extra money.

The Hypermotard 698 Mono sports a similar, purposeful appearance, as seen in the shape of the LED headlight with a long beak beneath, a slim fuel tank and neatly joined side and tail sections. In classic Ducati Hypermotard fashion, the twin exhaust pipes are positioned directly behind the tailpiece.

Ducati has also included an excellent collection of features, such as three power levels, cornering ABS, four riding modes, traction control and much-needed wheelie control.
