Citroen Basalt Features
There will be two engine options available for the Basalt: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The C3 and C3 Aircross engines are both tried-and-true units. The engine with natural aspirated produces 82 horsepower and 115 Nm. It is mated with a 5-speed manual and has a stated efficiency of 18.5 kmpl. Now let’s talk about the 1.2 turbo-petrol motor, which has a 110-horsepower max output. While using a 6-speed manual transmission, the torque peaks at 190 Nm, whereas when using an automatic transmission, it peaks at 205 Nm.
The Basalt has a new Coupe SUV design with sharp, innovative lines and an aggressive appearance. With a few modifications, the front end looks similar to the C3 Aircross. If viewed from the side, the 16-inch alloys with their busy design and the sloping roofline enhance the style and flair.
The SUV has adjustable under-thigh support in the seats, a first for the class and cosy rear headrests. It has a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, connected car technology, keyless entry, a rear parking camera, six airbags and more features.
