Citroen, the French automaker, is preparing to launch its fifth car in India, the Basalt coupe SUV, shortly. The automaker was spotted testing the Basalt almost without camouflage ahead of its expected launch during this festive season. The spy pictures revealed multiple details about the new SUV, which will join Citroen’s India lineup alongside the C3, eC3, C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross SUVs.

The spy photos that were circulated on social media display the whole back area of the Basalt, packed with its design features. The Basalt SUV will include chrome garnish, a large bumper at the bottom and an integrated spoiler. The taillights are similar to the model introduced by the automaker in March.

Spy pictures also reveal that the SUV will have a shark-fin antenna, a black roof and a tiny light, probably an indicator, mounted on the C-pillar.

The Basalt SUV’s sloping roofline, which features a black-themed window line and ORVMs, further highlights the coupe-like design from the side views. Sporty in style, the alloy design differs somewhat from the C3 Aircross SUV’s. There are no spy photos of the car’s front that provide any information. Expect the Basalt to have design characteristics influenced by the C3 Aircross SUV.
