Two days before the Basalt SUV’s official debut, new details about the upcoming vehicle have surfaced, as the French automaker Citroen prepares to launch its fifth vehicle in India. The coupe SUV, which is based on Citroen’s C3 Aircross, will be launched on August 2 and be the brand’s second small compact model.

The Citroen Basalt SUV, which will make its debut in the compact segment, will mainly compete with the Tata Curvv. It has a coupe profile, which is usually seen in more expensive cars. The Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, among others, are the leading vehicles in this sector.

The Basalt SUV’s front face is fully seen in the latest promotional video shared by the company. It has LED headlights, the classic X-shaped split LED DRLs and Citroen badging on the bonnet. The bumper has fog lamps and a faux skid plate, making it slightly chunkier.

The C3 Aircross’s interior will include the same infotainment screen that Citroen provides. It’s also possible that the digital driver display will be the same. The latest video reveals more feature upgrades that the Basalt SUV will receive over the C3 Aircross.

The Citroen Basalt SUV is anticipated to be equipped with wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type-C charging outlets, automated temperature control and cruise control.
