The highly anticipated Basalt coupe SUV from French automaker Citroen is set to make its debut in the first half of August. The vehicle, which launched globally earlier this year, has drawn a lot of attention as a possible rival to the highly awaited Tata Curvv, which is scheduled to arrive in August.
Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV Features
The spy photos and the newly unveiled teaser reveal the Basalt’s sleek, coupe-like roofline. It seems to have maintained the practicality of an SUV while adopting a sportier look. Several details of the SUV have already been revealed, including its signature two-slat chrome grille, an edgy silver skid plate, and sleek LED headlamps.
The engine of the Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to be borrowed by the Basalt as well. This translates to a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces between 110 and 205 Nm of torque. Either an automated torque converter or a manual gearbox will be fitted in this engine.
The Basalt is anticipated to include a feature-rich cabin, including a modern infotainment system with a potential 10.2-inch touchscreen and a digital driver’s display. Specifics about the interiors and features have not yet been made public.
