BYD has unveiled a facelift for the Seal, which is currently on sale in China. Along with minor exterior changes and a new interior layout, the facelifted Seal has upgraded ADAS technology and charging systems.

The Seal sedan’s upgrades are not noticeable from the outside until you look closely. New alloy wheels, a light purple colour option and a red BYD logo on the tailgate are also available. The main modification is a lidar sensor put on the roof, which is meant to improve the Seal’s automatic parking and adaptive cruise control features in particular.

More notable changes in the Seal facelift’s interior include a new flat-bottom four-spoke steering system, a dual-tone grey and tan theme and a new minimalist dash design with a black finish.

One of the facelift’s features is the upgrade from the present model’s 400V electrical system to an 800V design. BYD refers to this as e-Platform 3.0 Evo.  It is stated that this change will reduce the current 37-minute 10-80% charge time for the Seal to 25 minutes, indicating a 150kW maximum charging rate increase. In any case, BYD has not yet confirmed the new limits.

With a range of up to 700 km on the CLTC cycle, the BYD Seal EV is available in China with battery pack options of 61.44kWh and 80.64kWh. With 61.44kWh and 82.56kWh batteries, the all-electric sedan can go up to 650 km in India (NEDC).
