A teaser for the upcoming M6 electric MPV has been released by BYD India on social media, indicating a late debut. The BYD M6 is the global facelift of the e6, with a new model name. The M6 had a global debut at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show in July of this year and it will soon head to the Indian market.
In India, BYD debuted the e6 as its first passenger car in 2021. While it was first only available to commercial vehicle operators, sales to private buyers began in September 2022.
What to expect in the new BYD M6?
New dual LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and new full-LED headlights are features of the updated BYD M6 electric MPV. The front bumper has been restyled with chrome parts and an air-vent styling. The rear has new wraparound taillights that seem bigger and have more enhanced LED detailing.
The cabin layout remains the same as the outgoing model, except for a new 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The rotating screen replaces the current car’s 10.1-inch display, while cosmetic modifications include two wireless charging pads, updated switchgear and a new drive selector.
The new BYD M6 was shown with two battery packs, 55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh, which claimed a range of 420 km and 530 km, respectively. A single electric motor, rated at 161 bhp with the smaller battery and 201 bhp with the bigger battery option, provides the power. The peak torque remains unchanged at 310 Nm.
