BYD India has introduced the new eMax 7 MPV, with pricing starting at Rs 26.9 lakh for the entry-level Premium trim and rising to Rs 29.9 lakh for the top-spec Superior trim. The eMax 7 is a three-row electric MPV aimed directly against the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid (Rs 25.97 lakh-30.98 lakh) in India. Deliveries of the eMax 7 are set to begin in the coming weeks.

BYD eMax 7 MPV features

The eMax 7’s exterior has slightly modified headlights and taillights, as well as completely new bumpers with chrome details added to each end. Additionally, new 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/55 R17 tires are available. The available colours are Quartz Blue, Crystal White, Harbour Grey and Cosmos Black.

The biggest internal upgrade is a bigger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, up from the e6’s 10.1-inch screen. The eMax 7 has soft-touch materials all over, especially on the dashboard panels. The centre console has been somewhat modified, with two wireless charging pads, some new switchgear and a new drive selector lever.

Each eMax 7 model comes with an option of battery packs: the Superior has a 71.8kWh unit with a 530km NEDC range, while the Premium offers a 55.4kWh unit. The Superior trim has 204 horsepower and a claimed 0-100kph  time of 8.6 seconds, while the Premium trim has 163 horsepower and a claimed 0-100kph time of 10.1 seconds; both, however, have 310Nm.
