BMW Motorrad has succeeded in launching the R 1300 GS by introducing the R 1300 GS Adventure. This new model is a more aggressive version of the flagship bike. The Bavarian brand has announced that the bike will make its debut on July 5. Prior to the debut, the brand teased the bike by displaying its headlight and a bigger fuel tank.
Aside from the shape of the fuel tank, there are other practical changes. The first noticeable change is the addition of auxiliary lighting to the bodywork. Along with it, the bike is higher and has a larger windshield. It also has wind deflectors under the handlebars.
A 1,300 cc twin-cylinder engine with 145 bhp of power at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm will power the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure. On the standard model of the bike, this power unit is paired with a six-speed transmission. According to speculations, the Bavarian brand might use its recently launched Automated Shift Assistant (ASA).
In the Indian market, the R 1300 GS Adventure will be offered later. The R 1300 GS is priced at Rs 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom), thus the Adventure version will be more expensive and compete with the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally and DesertX Rally.
